Our school is proud to participate in the Quality Mark Programme, designed by BelongTo and endorsed by the Department of Education and Skills. The programme is designed to support schools in becoming inclusive and safe for LGBTQ+ people.
In Ireland, 76% of LGBTQ+ students have indicated that they do not feel safe in school. It is our goal in St. Paul’s Community College to ensure that this number is kept to a minimum so all members of our school will thrive in a safe positive caring community.
Our LGBTQ+ Support Team, led by Ms. Whelan (lorainewhelan@wwetb.ie), can be contacted by students, parents and staff for up-to-date LGBTQ+ related information, support and guidance. In this regard we also work under the Department of Education Guidelines: Being LGBT in School
