Welcome to St. Paul’s Community College website. I sincerely hope that your visit to this site will be enjoyable and will provide all the information you require about our College and the services and facilities we offer.
As Principal, I wish to extend a warm welcome to all our students, in particular though our new first year students, international students and other students who have enrolled for the first time in the school. I join with the very dedicated staff in St. Paul’s Community College to say fáilte romhaibh go léir.
I also wish to extend a very warm welcome to our new Deputy Principal Ms. Andrea Murphy who has joined our school team. We look forward to working with Andrea to support teaching and learning in our school.
Our hope is that the students will be happy and that they will enjoy their time with us here in St. Paul’s Community College. Our aim is to provide a safe, friendly, well-disciplined teaching and learning environment, where mutual respect is promoted. We also aim to ensure that each student is afforded the opportunity to reach his or her potential in education.
We welcome parental involvement in our school and we invite parents to join with us as partners in the education of their children. Together we will work to ensure that the students entrusted in our care are afforded the opportunity to reach their full potential. The active participation of all members of the school community in the life of St Paul’s Community College is encouraged and this is currently exemplified by a vibrant Parents’ Council, who welcome new members.
“Comhghairdeachas, congratulations to all our students who received their leaving certificate results. We wish them well as they continue their life long journey in education.
I wish to extend a special welcome also to the PLC students as they embark on another phase in their education. This year along with our IT, Business and Secretarial and Engineering Technology courses we are offering a new PLC course in Applied Science and Laboratory Techniques. It is the only such course in Colleges in the South East. We believe this is a fantastic course to prepare any student who wishes to embark on a career in a science related field. We look forward to working with you to support you in achieving your educational goals.
I would also like to thank the staff for their continued commitment and dedication to the education of our students. Many thanks also to Waterford Wexford ETB, the Board of Management and the Parents Council for their continued support, work and interest to ensure St. Paul’s Community College is equipped to meet the many challenges in education presently.
We in St Paul’s pride ourselves in the education and support provided for our students. From our wonderful Library, Homework Club, Breakfast Club, Supervised Study, Home School Community Liaison, Chaplaincy, Guidance Service, Book Rental Scheme Learning Support Departments, Behavioural Support, ASD Classes, to the excellent work in the classrooms. We aim to enable our students to become well-rounded citizens who excel in their personal and academic lives and who go on to make a difference by contributing to society in a positive way.
Our plans for an extension to incorporate our ASD classes into the main school building, are progressing well.
Best wishes to all for the year ahead.
