Students had a chance to join any or all of our various school based Clubs at lunchtime on Friday 12 September last. There are a wide range of clubs from darts, chess and cards to film making (see our library page to view some of last years short films), reading, computer and board games, football, soccer, hurling and girls basketball so there was something to suit all tastes.

Our school recently held a celebration day to celebrate the news that our school librarian Hilary Cantwell was recently named as the School Librarian of the Year in Ireland and the UK. Three former Principals of the school and a multitude of staff, students and other invited guests joined Hilary on Friday, October 25th, for an afternoon of music, song and presentations to mark her fantastic achievement. Students providing song and music included William Chester, Jessica Byrne, Ryan Dalton and Saoirse Cullen, who were accompanied by Ms Dunne on the Chelo. There was a great atmosphere on the day. Well done to Hilary and everybody who marked her achievement.
Below are some more pictures taken at the Celebration.
Our school recently held Friendship Week to highlight the importance of making friends and developing positive relationships while in school. It also highlighted the importance for students of recognising when they are being treated unjustly and how to talk, communicate and open up about their feelings. The week was very successful and included workshops for students from Humour Fit Theatre Company, literacy competitions, poster competitions and poetry competitions. There was also a talk for parents around Internet Safety and Cyber Bullying. We hope that the core theme of the week will carry with everyone throughout the whole school year.
Pictured top left are the group of students whose excellent projects on the theme of Friendship Week won them prizes and recognition. They are pictured with Ms O’Reilly (Principal) and the Care Team who organised the week – Mr Lohan, Ms Whelan, Sr Ann and Mr O’Grady.
